Odessa Wallace was the creator of the Indys Community Food Co Op, East Side Marketspace farmers market, Little Free Farms Stand, and the Indy First Fridays events. She loves connecting others with the very best local items available while supporting farmers, artisans, artists, and small businesses. Fresh affordable food access is the motivation driving it all. Odessa also did custom web design & social media marketing in her down time to help businesses have a platform to support community & outreach.
Tanorria Askew
Diversity & Inclusion Chair
Tanorria Askew of Tanorria’s Table is a passionate home cook turned Chef. She is the proud owner of Tanorria’s Table where she works as a personal chef and tv personality. Tanorria has a keen sense of flavor and prides herself in making everything she cooks memorable. You can also find Tanorria co-hosting the Black Girls Eating podcast.

Dr. Jarrod Dortch
Farm relations & Agriculture Chair
Dr. Jarrod Nicholas Dortch is a Professor of Communication at Ivy Tech Community College in Muncie, Indiana. He also serves as the owner and operator of Solful Gardens. LLC, a local urban agriculture startup specializing in bringing Fresh.Urban.Natural produce to properties and working with community and school gardens. He enjoys bringing together art, education, and gardening to help to enrich the experiences of communities and their denizens.

Faybian Taylor
Volunteers & Membership Chair/ Secretary
With a love for food and meeting new people, this Birmingham, England transplant to Indianapolis joins Slow Food Indy to get more involved with her community and bring people together who care about good, clean and fair food. Faybian sends the monthly newsletter to the SFI community, highlighting our snail honorees and the connection between food and the climate crisis.

Allison Barkel
Marketing & Social Media Chair
Driven by a passion for DEI, food insecurity, and environmentalism, Allison has made it her mission to leave a lasting positive impact on her Indianapolis community. Additionally, Allison loves to enjoys the outdoors, traveling domestically and internationally, reading (recs welcome!) and spending time with her fur babies, friends, family, and partner.
